Hempstead · Est. Tradition
Welcome to your
table — come in,
sit down, and let us
feed you something
real.
Central American recipes passed down through generations, prepared with ingredients that taste like they just arrived from the market. No shortcuts. No apologies.
Our Story
We didn't open a restaurant.
We opened our home.
Every dish on our menu comes from a place of memory — a grandmother's kitchen in Guatemala City, a Sunday evening in San Salvador, the street corners of Managua where the aroma of fresh tortillas pulled you in before you even knew you were hungry.
When we came to Hempstead, we brought those recipes with us. Not the simplified versions you find elsewhere. The real ones. The ones that take all day. The ones that make your family ask why you never cook this at home.
That's what we do here. We cook like our families are coming.
Why Here
What makes us different
isn't complicated.
Families, Not Customers
You walk in, someone knows your name. You sit down, we ask how your week's going. This isn't hospitality training — it's just how we were raised.
Recipes That Take Time
Our pupusas soak overnight. Our tamales wrap by hand. Our soups simmer for hours. We don't rush food because rushing is how you lose what makes it yours.
Flavors You Can't Get Elsewhere
From Honduras to Panama, our menu spans the region. If you've never tried baleadas or nacatamales before, consider this your invitation to discover something new.
Right Here in Hempstead
We're on Elmont Road because this is our community too. Neighbors, families, folks passing through — everyone who walks through our door is treated like they belong.

What People Say
We let the food
do most of the talking.
This is the only place in the area that makes pupusas this good. My wife and I come here every Saturday now. It's become our thing.
— Regular guest, Hempstead
I grew up eating food like this in El Salvador and honestly, it tastes just like home. The horchata alone is worth the drive.
— Guest from Queens
Brought my family here for my mom's birthday. She said it was the best meal she's had in years. That says everything.
